I am kind of scared about what I thought might be a traffic camera, It was right in the middle of the traffic light bar and I was turning right, it looked like a regular video camera, no big box that you usually see in the area taking pictures, do i need any concern, well what i did was crossed the line maybe half a foot on a red but i stopped to a complete stop and watched for traffic and went, and the second time, yes second time i was driving and it was orange, or yellow whatever you want to call it but i didnt see it turn red and thats the one and only time i thought i saw it flash, but it may have been a glare, this was in yuba city ca, please helpTraffic Cameras please help?/?///?
Well I got a ticket from one of those picture takers, and I never run or even try to "beat" a red light. I got a ticket only two days after it happened. I was in the intersection when it turned yellow, the car in front of me was obviously not in a hurry and was dragging along(not accelerating) fast enough for me to get in before it turned red. When they take the picture, it takes three of them. It it shows you where you were during the phase of the red light, how long the light was red(matter of seconds) and how fast the vehicle was going. If you were approaching the line at a slow rate of speed, you should be alright. You said you came to a complete stop, therefore you must not have been going that fast.If your car was traveling at let's say 15-20 miles an hour that's different. Let us know. I now have a fear of thatparticular corner, scared to even go in the intersection now, because you never know what the car in front of you is going to do!!Traffic Cameras please help?/?///?
Red light cameras do not flash-they gather light from ambient sources during the day and infrared at night (just so you know.) They take video anytime a car or vehicle crosses during a red light (in some places they just record automatically during reds.) You shouldn't have to worry, because unless you actually did something wrong you won't get a ticket.
In effect, if you did nothing actually wrong then you are fine, if you did something wrong then you probably have a ticket in the mail.
Oh, and notice that I say "if you did something wrong," that is because, based on your muddled description, I could actually tell what you did.Traffic Cameras please help?/?///?
Might not be a red light camera. Newer traffic light systems can use a video camera to detect cars instead of the magnetic sensors.
