My traffic school instructor said that I'm the only one he's ever heard of who got their traffic camera citation amount reduced at all - and I got it cut in half. I'm curious if anyone else has fought against these tickets and won a reduction. If so, how did you do it?
(I quoted the California legal code regarding emergency stopping in an intersection, by the way.)Has anyone ever had the amount of their traffic camera citation reduced?
Depends on how busy the traffic court is. Mine was reduced, but I had to cry a little.
those things do not get a shot of the driver...I have heard of contesting it due to not being able to prove who was driving at the time the pic was taken...someone else told me some states get around this by making it civil instead of criminal....I know for a fact they cant put it on your driving record with out being able to prove YOU were operating the vehicle..Id contest it and see what happens when you ask for proof you were drivingHas anyone ever had the amount of their traffic camera citation reduced?
I have had it cut in half, but I also had to pay a fine. The fact that I showed up to court and claimed guilty for doing it was enogh for them to reduce it
I got a 100% refund. I said I was behind a bus and could not see that the light, the bus stopped midway through the intersection, with me behind. By the time the bus moved, I was in the intersection and the light was red.
That was the truth, and I was refunded.Has anyone ever had the amount of their traffic camera citation reduced?
mine was $560 and reduced to $360
