I was driving a few nights ago at around 1 AM. I was waiting in the left turn lane for the signal to turn green. It turned green, but I didn't turn immediately because I was looking for something. There was no one behind me, and I entered the intersection on green, but right as I was in the MIDDLE of the intersection, the light turned YELLOW and the camera flashed. I was FULLY in the intersection on green and about half way through when the light turned yellow and the camera flashed. There was also another car making a left from the opposite side, so right now I am thinking that it took a picture of him, but I don't know. How are traffic camera pictures reviewed? Will I get a ticket? If I do get a ticket, what are my chances of winning an appeal? I am 100% sure i wasn't in the intersection when the light was red.How do traffic/red light cameras work?
Normally, once the light is on or about to change to, the color red, it sends a message to the camera to take a specified amount at of pictures really fast for a few seconds as soon as the light turns red. why you saw a flash i'm not sure? the man you talked about could have been going on a red light or something was causing the system to malfunction. if you were to get a court appeal i highly doubt you would get a ticket. it doesn't seem as if you intentionally were trying to "beat" the light so unless they have cold, hard, evidence proving other wise you should be okay. i hope this helps you.How do traffic/red light cameras work?
