Traffic Stop Cameras?

My hometown in Texas is having a huge dispute over the installation of cameras at traffic stops. I'd like to hear views from police in different cities - pro an con.

Pro: They work REALLY well in philly

Con: They work REALLY well in philly

$100 fines :(
Do you drive your car naked?

If so, I'm pro-camera!!!Traffic Stop Cameras?
pro: drunk drivers get caught

con: lack of privacy
yes they should install them, cars should NEVER go pass 25 mph in my opinionTraffic Stop Cameras?
ok. nice boobs if that is u lol
They already have that in Chicago. It's been a very good difference since they've been installed.

And holy boobs!!
i'm not a police, but i like them. for one ... they make people not run lights and get into accidents. then 2...if an accident does happen it's all on film and no one can screw each other on who hit who first.
Pro its safer.
It really does help. Accidents drop percentage wise, so does speeding. Everyone becomes really careful around the camera'ed area. (oh I made a new word). The only bad thing about it is... No matter who is driving, only the owner gets the ticket.
It is controversial everywhere. A way to help pay for the police force. They may even be turning a profit soon, if they keep this stuff up.
Im not a police officer but actually im on the other end... use to tend to try to go through yellow lights..

I got about 3 tickets from the(then new) local traffic cameras.. from where i wasnt through the light fully when it turned red. I deserved them im sure... and now i dont even try to go through yellows...

Id say overall if yiour wanting to prevent accidents its a PRO.. as well as city generating income from them (as you get charged a surcharge for the cameras themselves on top of the ticket)
It is safer and violators are apprehended.

This can be a bit of a cash cow for LE

Private co's are taking tipping or skimming fees - I don't know how far this may go and into what other areas.

The biggest concern I would have is that police and police functions are now being used as a profit making entity. This has never been the case - and no LE does not turn profits on traditional traffic enforcment.

So I wonder where this ends down the road. Traditional LE where it's about doing what is right - or LE geared toward making the most returns based on monetary issues. The second concerns me a bit.
If they work correctly, then good. I got a ticket for getting in the right turn lane, stopping before I turned, and then turning right on red. Nothing illegal about that but they MADE me pay 75$ for doing it, along with a load of other people in my town. Make sure it's fair.
They are being used more and more and with good results - watch your p's and q's. I know someone who got his license revoked for three months because he had three speeding tickets in a short time. They are also used for monitoring the running of red lights. I think it is a good thing to keep people on their toes and off their cell phones!!
Nice Brianna Banks picture!
they are installing them in upstate new york,,

i am all for them ,, that will stop soo many people from running the lights,, red does mean stop people in the usa,,

no i am not a police officer just a citizen
PRO: It is helping reduce the number of people speeding through yellow lights and making illegal right hand turn on reds.

CON: Not all of them are working at the same time, out of 36 in my city only 24 are working on any given day, the powers that be "CityHall" figured they would save money that way, and by rotating them people would obey at all the sites with them. WRONG!!

Is that you in your avatar??

And Kelly, you shouldn't give out your e mail to people you don't know, now every perverted little twerp on here has it!!
