How do I get out of my parking ticket? Apparently, I was parked on blue lines on an estate in Nottigham, England which means residents parking and I got a ticket. There are no signs to say waht the blue lines are for but it does have a sign saying residents parkign only (I was a guest of a resident). I have taken picture of my vehicle parked away from the blue lines and wonder if i can use the 'My word against theirs' route. Any advice would be very much appreciated...Do TRAFFIC WARDENS carry cameras to take pictures of your offense and how do I get out of my parking ticket?
Many traffic wardens do carry cameras now and take photographs of the vehicle both close up to include the tax disc and from various angles to show the exact parking position and the license plate as well.
The cameras have a time and date stamp built in to them to ensure that you cannot claim the picture was taken at a time when restrictions did not apply.
I cannot tell you if Nottingham wardens carry these cameras or indeed if the pictures were taken on this occasion.
I can however tell you that if you appeal against the ticket and are found to make a knowingly false statement you can be prosecuted and it will cost you very much more than the fine.
If you come back and the warden has just started writing the ticket you can drive off and then claim that the warden is making it up and you were never parked illegally.
As long as they do not have your tax details or a photo then there is no way they can prove you are lying.
You may still have to pay the fine but you can do so, "under protest" and refuse to admit guilt.
If you were issued with the ticket in your absence you can ignore it but only if you have the guts to go through with the next bit.
They will write to you some months later, saying that the fine has been increased.
You write back and swear that you never got a ticket, and that if a ticket was ever issued it must have been taken off by kids mucking about or it had not been properly fixed to the windscreen.
You insist on being given an opportunity to pay at the reduced rate and question the validity of the ticket itself as you have no recollection of ever having parked illegally.
Since they cannot prove the ticket was there when you got back they cannot prove you are lying.
So they write back and either
1. Say that the ticket may have been issued incorrectly and that you need take no further action.
2. They insist that the ticket was issued correctly but give you the opportunity to pay the reduced rate one more time.
You may then pay the reduced rate which you should have paid six months ago which is great.
it is petty victories over the authorities like this that keep me going
unfortunately they do have cameras now so you probably wont be able to get out of it sorryDo TRAFFIC WARDENS carry cameras to take pictures of your offense and how do I get out of my parking ticket?
they don't and you can't, just pay up youv'e been caught
yes they do carry camera's well most of them do, you can get parking tickets from eBay,hope that helps, all the best.go to your local cab office, they are great, they will help you all the way.Do TRAFFIC WARDENS carry cameras to take pictures of your offense and how do I get out of my parking ticket?
Sell the car and deny all knowledge of the offense after you cleverly alter the date on the receipt that you give to the new owner
To be honest, I would say it isn't worth it. As crap as it is for you, if you did go for it and refuse to pay it then you could eventually get sent to court, then you would have to lie in court and that wouldn't be good.
You will get done for a much more serious charge if you are found to have lied in court not to mention the court charges you would have to pay. Is it really worth it? Just accept you were wrong and pay your fine!
I believe a guy somewhere knew all the tricks and his rights so he would deliberately get tickets and appeal. He won the appeals so the traffic wardens were told not to ticket his car.
One was that double lines should be complete (not broken) and finish off to the kerb with a short line joining the two lines together.
Forget it! it usually works out cheaper to pay up sooner rather than argue.
Yes, you could try and use the 'my word against theirs' route but they do take pictures, which the council would just send copies of to you. Somebody tried this with me once when I was a traffic warden. He took photos on his phone about an hour after he had been booked and wrote in a letter saying 'I dont know what your warden had been taking but my car wasnt anywhere near those lines' the council sent him a letter back saying they didnt know what he had been taking thinking he could get away with that but heres the picture proving his car was on the lines.
best advice in this case is probably to pay up, because 2 weeks from the date of issue, the fine goes up to 拢60 then two weeks later its 拢95 and before you know it theres a guy with a van outside your house to take away your furniture
They do take pictures yes with date and time on it, they're not that daft. I don't think you'll get away with it, they usually win.
Yes of course Traffic Wardens carry cameras, its a well known fact. And no you cannot get out of not paying for a ticket. If you park without paying or anywhere where you shouldnt, then you will get a fine.
No, I don't think they carry cameras. And usually you can get out of a ticket by simply showing up for your court date--because the officer who gave the ticket usually doesn't show up; and in that case, the court has to drop the ticket.
They take loads of pictures, one of the number plate, one of the sign, one of the car on the lines and one of the ticket on the car!!the only way to get out of it is if the warden isn't wearing his hat!!
yes they do for evidence fixed penalty label has been place on winscreen silver fox
I watched a traffic warden give a ticket the other day and he took loads of photos of the car from all sides and also of the sign.
They don't miss a trick unfortunately.
just face up to the fact you parked illegally, be a man and pay the fine and take it as a lesson learnt
Yep they do have cameras but you should see the photo!!
Not exactly 'David Bailey' I am afraid you will find this one hard to 'get out of it' if the sign states residents parking' there is usually a permit for the vehicle. if no permit area the traffic warden would find it hard to prove you are not a resident!
I have a disability badge which the traffic warden said the expiry date was not clear to be read ! No word of a lie the traffic warden had really thick glasses ...he also took a photo.. i asked for a copy of the photo .you couldn't even tell it was a car let alone read the badge from the photo!
I WON!! nah nah
I Hate traffic wardens!
More and more traffic wardens are given digital cameras as standard, and they use this for evidence. You'll struggle to dispute photographic evidence.
