Same here in australia. Its a easy fundraiser for the government and sell you crap about how it reduces accidents and saves lives. It is doing the opposite everyone is looking at their speed all the time instead of the road. I wish I was a Autobody repairer damn it!Why are there so many speed cameras and traffic police present in Europe?
Here in the UK they use the excuse of increasing safety and reducing the accidents for the increase in cameras. However whilst the numbers of cameras have increased the numbers of dedicated traffic police have reduced. Which means the chances of catching drivers who are drunk, drugged or driving more dangerously are reduced. hence the cameras are only being used so they can fleece the motorist for cash to add to the government coffers.
there was a surplus of woodentops in the police stations so they made them go out and play , unfortunately at our expense
cameras are just a cheaper alternative to answer one with higher returns on the investment , come to think of it there must be a way i can set a camera up in my village and try for a takeover bid .elevated income here i come !!! ( or more likely jail when they twig )Why are there so many speed cameras and traffic police present in Europe?
The theory is that if you can. Deprive criminals of transport or lock them up for car crime the crime rate will drop the theory goes that criminals aren't just say a burglar but they don't respect any law be it tax speeding or car insurance and the anpr plus speed care as and patrols will catch them more easily on a road than breaking in to your house
Like everyone says, "SAFETY" CAMERAS are put on the roads where most accidents occur. Theres one on a main road near me (mobile van) every few weeks yet ive never seen an accident there in my life. Why are there so many speed cameras and traffic police present in Europe?
To steal money from innocent motorists.
