Traffic Light Cameras - What is the Law?

I recently made the mistake of driving while tired / distracted, and having stopped at front of queue for red traffic light, saw the pedestrian crossing light change to green man and moved off... at a junction with a camera. Does anyone know the law with these...

(1) is there supposed to be a warning sign on the approach to these cameras, as there usually is with speed cameras? (I'm sure there used to be a sign just before this camera, but there isn't now)

(2) am I supposed to receive a penalty notice within two weeks of the offence

(3) the camera is fairly new, with two circular lenses... do these get you from the front, behind or both? It would have to have got me from behind, as I was driving away from it

(4) this junction appears unusual in that there are two traffic lights 'at' the stop line, with no light diagonally opposite (which may be why I was looking over there and saw the pedestrian light change)... is this arrangement satisfactory or wrong?

Thanks for any answersTraffic Light Cameras - What is the Law?
Why? If there was a police officer standing there, would you expect a big red sign saying "police officer here, don't go through the light"? If you get a ticket, it will be 2 to 3 weeks. Tickets are issued on the basis of 2 pictures here in Manitoba, one showing the vehicle entering on red, a second confirming the vehicle in the intersection on a red. You were tired, a ticket would be a lot cheaper than an accident.
Hi, If the camera did catch you, you will receive a penalty notice within 2 weeks, and maybe points on your licence, as going through a light that has not yet turned to green is looked on as serious, it's jumping the traffic lights, If the camera is obscure (hidden by trees) you may have a case but otherwise because the cameras are bright yellow they are there to be seen. We have all made unintentional mistakes while driving, you are not the first and you certainly wont be the last. Let's hope the camera was not in working order.Traffic Light Cameras - What is the Law?
Go back out to that junction and take as many photographs as you can to illustrate all of the points you raised.

Then consider fighting any ticket in court and citing the photographs as your defence.

Although, if you drove through a red light, there's no defence.

Hopefully though, you don't get the ticket in the first place... maybe the camera had not been activated just then...
Sorry M8

but you have already made the mistake of admitting your were tired Should'nt have done thatTraffic Light Cameras - What is the Law?
You get a letter within 2 weeks sent to the registered keeper informing them of the offence, this is a 'Notice of intending Prosecution' which is a legal requirement, along with that a demand that the driver is identified, if you don't get this then you've got away with it as I understand it.
