Are traffic cameras an invasion of privacy?

A. Yes it's an invasion of privacy. The Government should not be watching my car.

B. No it's not an invasion of privacy. It's a public street and you shouldn't expect privacy.

C. It's an invasion of privacy but justified to improve public safety.

D. Other ________Are traffic cameras an invasion of privacy?
no..not an invasion..it's to help the court system with evidence, help the cops keep a handle on speeders/red light runners/ reckless drivers, etc. stores have em'...why not have em' anywhere where it can conceivably save a life.

No, it's not an invasion of privacy. A lot of places of business have recording devices nowadays (eg. corner store, gas station, malls, ATMS, etc.) to prevent theft, right? Well, the principle is the same in this case except it's being used to discourage people from breaking the law by speeding and potentially hurting/killing others.
