Traffic Cameras?

Do you think it is wrong for city officials to ticket a vehicle. What if you let someone to borrow your car and get one of these tickets. Atleast if you are pulled over the officer knows the person that is being ticketed is the one driving.Traffic Cameras?
It is not fair, and if you could afford a good lawyer, you could fight it as invasion of privacy, as well, as lack of evidence as to who was driving.
That's why it's not a serious offense that adds points to your license. You only have to pay a fine because the picture doesn't prove who was driving. You can always have the person who drove pay you or even go to court. It's very fair and discourages unsafe driving. Ultimately, you're responsible either way. Don't let anyone borrow your car whose driving practices are questionable.Traffic Cameras?
It's not fair, true. They say that you should be responsible if you own the car cause you lend it out. That's BS. Basically they are saying Dont lend your car out period.

It's actually an easy, cheap way of controlling street racers...and also a great money making opportunity for them.
Yes and No.

If most cities, it is wrong. There is not enough traffic or problems to justify cameras.

I live near Houston,Texas (USA) which has recently started using these cameras. I am forced to agree that we need them. Blatently running traffic signals has become a big problem here. I usually wait a couple of seconds after the signal has changed to go (even though the car behind me is honking) because it is very dangerous.

Legally, you are responsible for whoever you allow to use your car. The courts here will drop the charge against you if you can identify the person driving the car. This might seem unfair, but YOU, not someone else, allowed that person to get behind the wheel of your car.Traffic Cameras?
I think it's great!!!

The registered owner is responsible for the actions of the driver. If you loan your car to someone, and they break the traffic law, you are just as responsible..... If someone is injured or hurt, you are responsible....

Best thing it to a) obey traffic laws, and; b)don't loan your car to anyone.
