Do traffic light cameras in the uk always have film in them? ?

If not, how much chance do you stand of not getting the points and fine?Do traffic light cameras in the uk always have film in them? ?
Not all traffic light and speed cameras are digital yet.

Often though, whether film or digital, the camera will not be activated or linked so although it may flash you will not get a ticket.

The problem is, there is no way of knowing which are working and which aren't so if you get flashed you have a long 15 day wait to find out if you are going to be adding to treasury coffers.

They never have film in them.

They're digital, no film required.Do traffic light cameras in the uk always have film in them? ?
Um, they never Ever have film in them, they are digital, so unless the traffic light is completely out, you stand EVERY chance of getting your picture taken. and points deducted
nope, if if doesnt flash, your good for another time! :)

these days theres load of ways of beating the cameras, including a special clear spray/sticker that goes over the number plate, that when the camera flashes, its makes your number plate bright making the picture unfocused :DDo traffic light cameras in the uk always have film in them? ?
Traffic light CAMERAS in the UK, the US, and just about anywhere else don't have "FILM" in any of them.

They are hooked up to computers for digital images and "wired" into the facility that processes them.

Just like you see any security monitoring cameras, you are able to freeze an image and take a photo.

Something I just learned is that they randomly take photos after being set on a timer....I learned this the other day because i was sitting at a red light and my eye caught a flash near the over head traffic light.

I had just had my photo taken!

I asked a local police officer that directs traffic at my work building and it was confirmed that they are set on a random order of photo taking usually BUT.....some in "bad" areas they actually have a GROUND set the same way on the road that triggers the light for turning vehicles.

But one never knows where they are and in bright sunlight, you can't SEEthe flash.

You're playing with fire!

Since my flashy incident, I have been extremely careful at traffic lights.
