I accidentally ran a red light and now I am wondering if this camera can give me a ticket. I heard it is only a sensor that monitors traffic but i also heard its just a camera. it might also just be sensor for emergency vechiles which will make the Light turn green

Usually those kinds of cameras are to monitor traffic so someone in some remote office can manually change the timing of the light to avoid/reduce congestion, or for an emergency vehicle.
