Anyone know about traffic violations by camera?

This is in regarding traffic violations in Los Angeles County California. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE PHOTO ENFORCED RED LIGHT VIOLATION INTERSECTIONS. Will/can sheriffs patrol cars issue tickets for speeding or red light violations caught on camera from the patrol car itself in lieu of stopping and pulling over the violator?Anyone know about traffic violations by camera?
I hope not. Those photos are all done on computers. Those photos can also be altered using Photo-Play on the computer. Green lights can be turned into red lights. Cars that weren't there suddenly appear. Time of Day changed, empty crosswalks filled with pedestrians. That sucks, I don't see how they are legal.Anyone know about traffic violations by camera?
That would be an example of imaginary doubt. John S is right about the legislation.

There was a bill to set up a pilot project for photo enforcement of speeding in Beverly Hills. This does not involve a camera in a car (you wouldn't need that--the officer is right there). It would have been like red light photo tickets, except the picture would be of a speeder. The bill died in committee.
