Speed cameras, on the A40 between Northholt and gypsy corner.?

They have installed 2 of the new digital cameras, which are supposed to replace the Gatso's. But they have kept the Gatso's so that is 5 in 3 miles, the Government say that it is for road safety and not to raise revenue, which means more cameras less traffic police. If you went into town for the night and felt intimidated by the drunks, what would you prefer cameras or the police. Cameras don't stop the irresponsible, but the sight of a policeman does.Speed cameras, on the A40 between Northholt and gypsy corner.?
It's all about money, if it was for safety they would still have the traffic police on patrol.Speed cameras, on the A40 between Northholt and gypsy corner.?
I much prefer the variable speed monitoring cameras. We have some near me on the road works. At least with this system you don't have the idiots who race up to a speed camera, shove on their brakes to avoid getting a ticket and then race away again. I don't think I would like to drive into town for the night especially if there are likely to be drunk drivers on the roads back to my part of the UK as they are just as likely to involve you in a traffic accident as intimidate you by rear bumper hugging.

I do agree with you though that the sight of a police officer is very effective.Speed cameras, on the A40 between Northholt and gypsy corner.?
Absolutely 100% correct even though I think speed cameras have a part to play in reducing the idiot speeds some people drive at in 30 MPH zones!
