any info what so ever please. :)
basically today on my way home i ran a red light because i was on a one-way system and with a 40 speed limit and the light changed to red just as i was about to pass it, i wouldnt have been able to stop completely before crossing the line, and would have ended up doing more damage by doing so.Are red light cameras on every set of traffic lights?
"...the light changed to red just as i was about to pass it,"
Which means it was on amber, well before you passed it.
An amber traffic light also means "Stop", so why didn't you?
They are not on every light so you will just have to wait and see if you were caught.
Maybe worth thinking why you were going to fast to stop because as already said they don't change that quick. Are red light cameras on every set of traffic lights?
UK Speed Cameras and Red Light Camera Locations..

no only traffic lights in certain areas (mostly in an area where people are likely to run a red light). Thats in my city anyway other coucils may do it differently. Are red light cameras on every set of traffic lights?
They just look like speed cameras, normally set back about 20 or so yards from the lights.
You can't miss them.(unless your changing cd or putting your make-up on).
I wish people had the courage to confront their municipality about the legality of their red light cameras. NONE of them are legal. NO WHERE in the world are they legal. BECAUSE:
1. All communities in the world use ITE's yellow light equation to set the length of the yellow light.
2. That equation REQUIRES the municipality to mark the road with a painted line at the safe braking distance from the intersection. If the light turns yellow before you get to the line, you must stop. If the light turns yellow after you get to the line, you must go.
3. The municipality does NOT paint the line. That is an ENGINEERING DEFECT. A misapplication of the yellow light equation.
3. Without knowledge of the exact location of this line, the municipality forces you to guess.
4. The equation also biases you to traverse the intersection, not stop. The length of the yellow light is always HALF the time it takes you to stop your car.
5. The guess and the bias cause the statistical certainty that a large number of cars will run the red light. Your municipality and the red light camera company literally bank on it.
6. It is your municipality's responsibility to fulfill the contract of the engineering required by ITE's yellow light equation. YOU are NOT responsibile for the municipality's breach of contract.
ITE's equation has ALWAYS been a safety problem. It has been the cause of most accidents since its inception in 1965.
As long as the police enforce the equation, no one really objects. Police do not stake out intersections 24 by 7. Police do not give tickets for people who run the red light by a fraction of second.
But the red light cameras do not allow you to guess where the safe braking distance line is. The red light cameras pass out tickets with the cold precision of a computer, oblivious of the guess behind the misapplication of the equation. If the municipality is going to enforce stopping at red lights with the precision of a computer, they must also deliver the full engineering specs required by ITE's equation.
Right NOW, we are all being penalized by the municipality's breach of contract and their ignorance of engineering and physics.
