I got a ticket for turning right on red in Colorado, by a traffic camera.?

The problem is not that I didint do it, it is that because it is a traffic camera, the paper says the "penalty will be assessed to the owner of the vehicle" However, that would be my husband, who is currently deployed. Can they give someone a ticket who isn't even in the COUNTRY?! Is there a way to get them to switch the ticket into my name?I got a ticket for turning right on red in Colorado, by a traffic camera.?
See the little note that offers a change of offender? If you write who was driving (in this case you) they'll re-issue the ticket to that person.

Not that it matters. In our pretty state red light tickets are pointless, that is there are no points assessed to a license. It's like a parking ticket. The car gets it, not the person. So your husband's license will not suffer if you just mail the ticket.

I also have to point out that if you were in Denver you won't win a court challenge, so don't bother. We have really fancy pants cameras that get you coming and going, and monitor your speed while doing so.

Just fill out the information. If you have trouble call the court. They are usually pretty nice about this stuff. I should know! :)I got a ticket for turning right on red in Colorado, by a traffic camera.?
mylaugh is actually very wrong. If your husband will not be in the country when the court date is, you need to contact the court to let them know of this. Your husband will have to let them know you were the driver so you're responsible for the ticket. If he doesn't mention it was you, he will be responsible for the ticket.I got a ticket for turning right on red in Colorado, by a traffic camera.?
The easy course is to just pay the fine on your husband's behalf. The harder course is to file for relief under federal or state law "serviceman's relief" statutes. That will defer the response time until your husband comes home, but will not avoid liability.

But just pay the fine. It is cheaper.
Sounds easy to contest. They are going after your husband. He couldn't possibly have done it. It is not your obligation to let them know who was driving the vehicle. Case dismissed for lack of evidence.
