How long do police have to notify of intended prosecution after a traffic camera offence is recorded?

I have been trying to get information from anyone who knows anything on this with little success. Information on Australian/Queensland Law would be more useful but If anyone (i.e.America) has any leads to information that would also be appreciated. Thanks. How long do police have to notify of intended prosecution after a traffic camera offence is recorded?
the notification comes as soon as you forget to worry about it.How long do police have to notify of intended prosecution after a traffic camera offence is recorded?
Not sure how it works in Australia, but in the US we have what is called "Statute of Limitations" which is the amount of time after committing a crime that someone can be charged. If you get away with it long enough, the statute of limitations will prohibit your being charged with it.

In my state, the Statute of limitations for traffic offenses is six months. After six months, you can't be charged with the traffic offense. How long do police have to notify of intended prosecution after a traffic camera offence is recorded?
A letter in the mail with a fine/loss of license.
