This seems to be an unknown. First mention I find is Popular Mechanics, September 1905, page 926 but it doesn't say where it was used.

Do traffic light cameras flash if you pass the first white line on the road?
i was about to make a right turn, and stopped to check if there was a sign (no turn on red), i am positive that there wasn't..because after this i went back to check..
At the moment i stopped, panicking because the light was red
and i think i passed the first white line on the road..
I was going to make a right turn, but before i turned two cameras flashed! and i only turned right after the flashes.. So now i'm worried if it flashed me or someone from the opposite side turning left.Do traffic light cameras flash if you pass the first white line on the road?

Just wondering what is the sight limit for the traffic light cameras at junctions ? do they snap upto 50 metres or longer ? Do I need to be concerned about my traffic offense when applying for ILR?
I currently have 3 points on my license as a result of a camera traffic offence for: failing to stop at a traffic light, and was issued a 拢60 fine. As a result of this I've had to answer 'yes' to the Criminal offence section 7 Question. It is not a criminal offense. If you were never sent to court for the violations then it is not a criminal offense.

Do all traffic light cameras work?
I went through two red lights earlier today - they were the ones where there is one then another just behind that changes a couple of seconds after. I'm normally a very cautious driver and never take chances or risks but I was rushing as my nan was in my car and feeling sick which I know is no excuse but I just sped up when i saw the first light turning amber and carried on for the second one.
The road wasn't busy and it was about 3pm, I didn't see a light go off or a flash but there was a grey camera on a post. I'm just wondering do all cameras work? I will certainly never ever do it again.Do all traffic light cameras work?
No not all do but just keep your fingers crossed then I was flashed and done once . not again .

All traffic light cameras are operative - it is only some speed cameras that are not. Even without a flash as they don't need to flash, if you went through on red then you will be caught.
Going through on Amber is not an offence as you can go through on amber if it is safer than trying to stop. Pulling off on Amber is against the law even for BMW and Audi drivers but you wouldn't know it.

Need Help Understanding the traffic light street cameras!?
ok so recently i was in a car with my friends and the guy next to me was really confusing to understand because he was giving me directions. so i was really stressing trying to understand him and before i knew it i was approaching a red light and for sum reason it didnt come to my mind to stop.the light turned green for opposing traffic, and i was really close to getting hit by the other traffic. I saw the camera on the street but it didnt flash. does that mean i dont get a ticket becausei really did not cross it when it "Turned REd". i crossed it while the other street light turned green. so now im confused. also i would get into alot of trouble becaue at that time i was supposed to be in skool and i was wit a guy so my parents would KILL me ! If that light has a sign that says "Photo Enforced" then you have a nice little civil citation coming your way in about a week or two..
Don't worry until you have to. If they send you a ticket, then you can worry. Until then, assume that they won't.
