In my town the traffic sergeant at the police department reviews all of the images from the cameras.
If there are emergency vehicles that were actually responding to a call at the time, those pictures are not sent.
All other pictures are then forwarded to the company for processing.
And, the sergeant has sent in pictures of officers in their personal vehicles when they ran the lights.
He only deletes images of lawful emergency vehicles responding to calls.
If you run a red light camera you will get a ticket.
Yes you will get a ticket if the camera took your picture.
I'm not sure exactly how it works in other states, but here in Texas you do not get points on your license for a red light camera.
It does not go on your driving record.
It is simply a violation of a municipal ordinance.
The offense is for violating a city ordinance that says you will not allow your vehicle to proceed through a red light without stopping.
You will not get charged with a driving violation under the Transportation Code unless you are actually pulled over by an officer, who positively identifies you as the driver.Do cops always check the traffic light cameras? (read below)?
Police don't actually look at them, if I remember correctly. It's a company that's acting on behalf of the police. Most places have them turned off during the odd hours of the night as well.
You'll probably get a ticket for this, but it's not going to be much and I think it depends on where you live as to whether or not it'll show up on your record.Do cops always check the traffic light cameras? (read below)?
I hope you get a ticket.
If you are not responsible enough to pay attention when your driving then you deserve to get a ticket. Maybe you will learn your lesson when you have to pay a couple hundred dollar ticket.
Chances are you're not going to get a ticket. I know I've ran several red lights with cameras on them by accident and never got a ticket.
