How does a traffic camera that takes pictures if you hit a red light looks like?

I was just wondering how does the camera that takes a picture if you hit a red light looks like? I hit a yellow light and there was a small black camera (one lens) by the traffic light but it didn't flash or anything, I asked one of my friend and he told me that camera is to turn the light to red when there are no cars or something like that.. and would you get a camera traffic ticket if you hit a yellow light. by the way I'm from Canada and I live in Ontario-SarniaHow does a traffic camera that takes pictures if you hit a red light looks like?
You'll know it when you see it. It's a big, white, rectanglular camera. It will also have a strobe light for a flash underneath it. Usually they will be in the center divide, not on the light itself. Also on most of the corners. If you want to see it, just google it.How does a traffic camera that takes pictures if you hit a red light looks like?
dont worry about it if you tuley went under on yellow ur fine and it is mostly for legal puporses if someone is killed or if someone blatenly goes across on yellow. It can also be used to track down stolen cars. Dont worry about it people go on yellow all the time even a patrol officer is not going to care if you go under on yellow, yellow just means to yield and for others speed up.How does a traffic camera that takes pictures if you hit a red light looks like?
The camera you saw was probably just a traffic monitoring camera, linked to your city or county department of transportation. It's used to monitor traffic flow and problems, but not to monitor individual cars.
