So if u live in a big city, or a rich town, you know how they have those cameras at traffic lights?

ok, so i was driving home from Toledo the other night and the light turned yellow as i was turning left... i had made it just past the pedestrian cross walk when it turned yellow, so there was no way i could stop without having to back up or something...

then i see a big flash in my rearview mirror...

and im like shiiiiiitttttttttttttt

am i going to get a ticket in the mail, or do the cameras always take pics as the light turns red? so then maybe i was in the clear???So if u live in a big city, or a rich town, you know how they have those cameras at traffic lights?
If you were already in the intersection when the light turned yellow, you didn't violate any traffic laws. If it turned yellow before you entered the intersection, look out.

Also, in Texas the camera takes a picture of the license plate, not the driver. The owner of the car is the one who gets the ticket. They consider it invasion of privacy to take a picture of the actual driver of the car. It's not judged to be a moving violation, either, you just get fined.

The usual response to a light turning yellow around here is to floor it. In Austin, it isn't uncommon to have to wait at a green light for a string of five or six cars to finish running the red light before you can go. And heaven forbid if you should stop at a yellow light!! You're likely to get rear-ended bad. Whatever can be done to try to cut down on red light running, I'm all for it (though it sounds like a lot of people here don't think there's anything wrong with it).
there was probably a camera and it took your picture. prepare to get a ticket in the mailSo if u live in a big city, or a rich town, you know how they have those cameras at traffic lights?
If the camera flashes expect mail. You are about to be served with a picture of you running red light.
they also have to get a clear view of your face to ticket you, I live in a smaller city, in az but in phoenix they have those dumb *** things, my aunt adv me she puts her visor down and they cant see her face, they are not able to ticket you w/out a clear view of who is drivingSo if u live in a big city, or a rich town, you know how they have those cameras at traffic lights?
You are probably in the clear,we have them all over Phoenix AZ and they are pretty fair in how they take the pictures.Good luck.oh and not every flash means a ticket.
You should have installed a Photo-Block license plate, like the ones sold here, on eBay...

i suppose you gonna get mail from it but i think you should do something about it like go on strike saying whatever you said up there ^^^
I'm from the Toledo area and I have a friend that was sent several of those tickets, but he got out of them. He has a close friend that is a lawyer, but basically I was told it is not a ticket you actually have to pay. He told me that you have to have an officer of the law actually give you the ticket. I don't know how true this all is, but make sure you appeal it if you do get it.

I've also heard the license plate covers don't work and I think they send the ticket no matter who is driving to the registered owner of the vehicle.

See what happens, maybe someone else ran the light and you just didn't see it, but good luck!
